Be assured that your surrogate coordinator will be in regular contact with you throughout the process.

SHOULD I USE AN AGENCY?

Personally coordinating all of the necessary medical, legal and financial details of a surrogacy is time consuming, overwhelming and risky, it can also stress the relationship between parents and their surrogate. Having an experienced agency oversee the surrogacy process allows you and your surrogate to relax and enjoy the pregnancy, we handle the business side letting you focus on bringing your baby home. We also offer you reliable support and most importantly provide access to qualified surrogates and donors as well as our extensive network of professionals.

WHERE WILL THE BIRTH TAKE PLACE?

Your surrogate will give birth to your child at her local hospital in most cases. If you would like to be a part of the labor and delivery part of your child’s birth we will match you with a surrogate who feels the same and is comfortable with sharing the birth experience.

WHY DO WOMEN BECOME SURROGATES?

Women choose to become surrogates for many reasons. Some have personal experience through friends or family with infertility others simply love being pregnant and feel this is a way to give back. The reasons vary as much as the women but they all share a desire to help others add to their family.

HOW ARE SURROGATES SCREENED?

The application process for surrogates is extensive. We begin by reviewing your potential surrogates basic application, if they meet the requirements we begina  more detailed application process that includes the collection of obstetrical history, social history, education, employment and getting to know them and their family. Surrogates are also interviewed intensivly to decide if they are right for our program, not everyone is, currently we only accept about 10-15% of our surrogate applicants into our surrogacy program. If the surrogate is qualified and we feel she is a good candidate we have her information reviewed by a consulting fertility physician. All of this is done prior to her profile being made available.

HOW DO I SELECT AN EGG DONOR?

Choosing an egg donor is very personal. Often our intended parents have certain traits they prefer that are similar to their own and other times they have particular responses that are important to them. Your coordinator will work with you to find out what you’re looking for in an egg donor and then find her!

WILL I HAVE CONTACT WITH MY EGG DONOR?

Meeting your egg donor and/or having future contact with her is a matter of preference for both you and her. We will match you based on what is important to you.

DO I NEED A CONTRACT?

YES, anytime you are matched with a surrogate or egg donor we will refer you to independent legal counsel. Surrogacy and egg donation should never be done without a contract, even if done independently doing so is extremely risky and often leads to legal issues which may take years to iron out.

SURROGACY IS NOT LEGAL IN MY STATE?

That's okay the state your baby is born in is what matters legally. We only work with surrogates from surrogacy friendly states to ensure that you do not have a problem securing your parental rights.

PRIVACY

Tiny Sprouts understands that security and privacy are important. We do not share surrogate or intended parent information, nor publish a data base online.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SUED?

No, we have never been sued. We do carry insurance.

ARE MY ESCROW FUNDS SAFE AND INSURED?

Yes. Your funds are held in escrow by a separate company that you have chosen. We will give you information on escrow agencies that we have relationships with or you can chose your own as long as they have experience disbursing surrogacy funds.

HOW MUCH INTERACTION WILL I HAVE WITH MY SURROGATE?

The level of communication depends on the preferences of both the surrogate and the intended parents. Typically, the relationship and communication happens naturally as you go through the process and often times lifelong friendships are built. There are surrogates and intended parents who prefer to keep their relationship strictly business and when matching we take this into consideration and match you accordingly.

WHAT IF MY SURROGATE CHANGES HER MIND?

We have never had this happen but that is why an agency is helpful, we work with top lawyers to make sure legal protections are put in place through your surrogacy contract to protect your rights.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRADITIONAL AND GESTATIONAL CARRIER?

With traditional surrogacy a women uses her own eggs and the sperm of the intended father or a donor through insemination. With gestational surrogacy the carrier is not genetically related to the child, the eggs are that of the intended mother or an egg donor. We do not often do traditional surrogacy although in some rare cases it is an option.
